What does the site do?

This review is for the jobs sites from Brand Republic.com. The main website is very popular and from what we have read it seems that the jobs section is also. The site is basically a job board which advertises jobs for agencies making it easy for the applicant to search many agencies at the same time. There many other sites out there that do something very similar however as this site is so popular we choose it.

At the top of the homepage there is the standard search bar with the ‘advanced search’ button to help filter the selection down. Also on the page there are some direct buttons including the most popular searches which speeds up your searches. These are grouped into ‘Top Functions’, ‘Top Locations’ and ‘Top Sectors’.

The site does have several adverts but I tend to ignore these on every site however other visitors may not.

What are the positives?

The site is very easy to use as they have kept to the standard job board design which makes you an expert of the site as soon as you get on it.

The amount of jobs on the site is impressive, which is the main reason you are on the site in the first place.

What are the negatives?

For me the adverts, there just seems to be quite a few of them, they just need to make them less in your face or reduce. But I guess that’s the idea of them.

Conclusion

Quite simple really, nice and simple design with loads of jobs vacancies on it, what more do you want from a job board?

Website Review of Contract Jobs.com

What does the site do?

Contract Jobs.com is a site which specialises in helping find contract jobs for many different industries. As per many recruitment it has the normal navigation menu and groups the most popular industries as a button at the top of the page. This allows people to easily click the area they are interested in. For example if you are looking for a job in Engineering there is a button which will show all the engineering jobs.

The site also has a search bar that you can use to filter down what you are looking for easily. To the right of the bar there is an ‘Advanced Search’ button which will provide you with further options for your search.

Alone the top there are tabs that offer other services to the visitor which might be useful. For example there is an ‘Upload your CV’ tabs which helps businesses search for their next employee.

What are the positives?

The main advantage of this site over others out there is that it specialises in only contract jobs (as the name of the site suggests). There is nothing more annoying when looking for a contract job and the position you find (out of thousands) is for a permanent position.

The site design is nice a crisp, not too cluttered and easy to find your way around.

What are the negatives?

There are a few advertising images which for some can be a little annoying. As with all (I guess) job boards there is always a risk of some jobs advertised being out of date, in my time using this site I did come across some roles which were already filled. I think communication between the board and the agent could be a little better.

Conclusion

A nice and easy site to navigate around which I managed to find the type of roles I have been looking for fairly quickly. I would recommend this site and I can see if they just iron out a couple of little things it will be a very good site.
